Botwood youth arrested in connection with pellet gun incident

A 16-year-old boy from Botwood has been arrested in connection with an incident involving a pellet gun that was a realistic replica of a handgun.

On September 17, 2017, shortly before 3 p.m., Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP responded to a call in Botwood of a person in possession of what appeared to be a firearm. A 16-year-old boy was located in a wooded area a short time later. He was taken into custody and later released on conditions pending a future court appearance. Police also seized a black pellet gun, designed to look like a 9mm handgun.

The investigation is continuing.
