At 9:50 p.m. on August 24, Barrington RCMP was called to the scene of a robbery at a grocery store on Hwy. 3. Three staff members were present, and they witnessed the lone male suspect produce a knife, and a note which demanded money. No one was injured during the robbery. The suspect fled the store on foot with a quantity of cash. The RCMP Southwest Nova Police Dog Service was called to assist with attempting to locate the suspect, but did not locate anyone in the area. The investigation has determined that an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) was likely used by the suspect.
