News release

Shortly after midnight, a single vehicle collision was reported in the 900 area of Waverley Rd. The vehicle, a small SUV, left the road and struck a utility pole. It sustained severe damage to the passenger side. A witness reported seeing three males exit the vehicle, remove the licence plate, and run from the area. When police arrived on scene they determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen the previous day from a residence in Lower Sackville.

They were arrested, checked and cleared by EHS, then transported to Lower Sackville RCMP Detachment. They are facing the following charges:

  • A 22-year-old from Dartmouth, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • A 19-year-old from Dartmouth, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • A 16-year-old from Dartmouth, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Driving While Disqualified, and a Summary Offence Ticket for Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident

All three males are scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing.
