Appreciation ceremony for firefighter and ground search and rescue volunteers

The St. George detachment of the West District RCMP will be hosting a Certificate of Appreciation Ceremony on December 12, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. The ceremony will take place at the Magaguadavic Centre located on J.O. Spinney Drive, in St. George.

"This is a great opportunity for the police to thank the volunteer Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) members and volunteer firefighters who were involved in the two day search for a 69-year-old woman who was located alive on September 21, 2017, in the St George area, " says Cpl. Jayson Hansen with the St. George RCMP detachment.

The public are welcome to help show their appreciation to the volunteers from the fire departments of St. George, Blacks Harbour (Eastern Charlotte Regional), Fundy Bay, St. Stephen, St. Andrews, Deer Island and Western Charlotte. Additionally to those who give their time to the Charlotte County, River Valley, York Sunbury, Greater Fundy, Carleton County, and Tri-County GSAR teams.
