64-year-old man dies after collision

A 64-year-old man from Shippagan is dead following a collision between a pickup truck and a bicycle in Shippagan.

On August 4, 2017, around 8 a.m., the Northeast District RCMP were called to the scene of a collision on boulevard J.D. Gauthier in Shippagan where a pickup truck had struck a cyclist. The cyclist was taken to hospital but died of his injuries on August 5.

While the investigation is continuing, at this point it is not believed the driver of the pickup truck was at fault. Charges are not anticipated.
