Police conduct traffic enforcement in Marystown

RCMP deployed its Traffic Services East Unit to the Marystown area focusing on traffic enforcement.

Between February 28 and March 1, 2017, the two-day traffic enforcement operation involved using Laser Radar on Route 210 targeting speeders. As well, several check stops were conducted in both the Burin and Marystown areas to identify violations of the Highway Traffic Act.

RCMP Officers issued the following violation tickets:

29 summary offence tickets for speeding.

17 summary offence tickets for failure to wear seatbelts

13 summary offence tickets for other Highway traffic act violations.

The RCMP remains dedicated to improving public safety on our roadways. Efforts will continue to be made by police to encourage motorists to obey posted speeds and wear seatbelts.
