Speeding motorist results in impaired driving charges

Nova Scotia RCMP's Eastern Traffic Services stopped a vehicle for speeding after it was clocked at 143 km/hr as it passed a unmarked police vehicle. This occurred on Hwy. 104 in Addington Forks at 4:40 p.m. on March 31.

The driver, Robert Mason, 26, of Tangier was charged with Impaired Driving, Driving with a Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80 mg% and Driving while Disqualified. He was remanded into custody and is set to appear in Antigonish Provincial Court today.

The RCMP would like to remind drivers that any time you suspect a driver is impaired, call 911 and report it.
