Two people of interest in Lincoln shooting arrested

A 30-year-old Kingsclear First Nation man and 23-year-old Fredericton woman have been arrested in connection with a shooting that took place at Tamarack Park in Lincoln, N.B., on January 26, 2017.

They were arrested in Benton, N.B., on the afternoon of January 29.

Police had been seeking both as persons of interest in the investigation.

Shortly after the shooting was reported, a 34-year-old man was discovered at a nearby motel in Fredericton, where he had driven after being shot. Emergency crews were called and the man was taken to hospital where he later passed away.

The investigation is ongoing.
