Man charged following October incident at Come By Chance refinery

Clarenville RCMP have laid two charges against a man following an incident at North Atlantic Refining's Come By Chance facility in early October.

Police responded to the refinery when they received a report of a small explosion in a temporary fabrication building on the site.

The investigation revealed that a small bag of Acetylene was placed in the welding area and exploded. There were no injuries or damage as a result of the incident.

A 40-year-old Carbonear man is facing charges of mischief endangering the lives of others and mischief over $5000 dollars. He is scheduled to appear in Clarenville Provincial Court in early April.
