On January 26th, 2017, the Yellowknife RCMP executed a search warrant at a Yellowknife hotel and seized a restricted firearm.
In the early morning hours of January 26th, 2017, members from the Yellowknife Detachment, General Investigation Section, and the "G" Division Federal Investigation Unit executed a search warrant at a local hotel. A restricted firearm was seized.
A twenty-eight year old male, Anatoly Eichmann, and a twenty-one year old female, Jamie Haward, both have been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 91 of the Criminal Code, and careless storage of a firearm, Section 86 of the Criminal Code.
Eichmann remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Yellowknife Territorial court on Monday January 30th, 2017.
Haward was released and is scheduled to appear in Yellowknife Territorial court on Tuesday February 14th, 2017.
The investigation is ongoing.
