Police officers of the RCMP Laurentides-Lanaudières-Outaouais Detachment and the Clandestine laboratory Enforcement Team are busy this morning dismantling a clandestine laboratory located in a warehouse in Laval. A search is also being conducted in a private residence located in Saint-Sauveur-des-Monts. This police operation is the result of several months of investigation based on information received to the effect that a chemist in the Laurentians allegedly operated a clandestine laboratory.

The drug produced in this laboratory is still unknown to the investigators. Analysis by Health Canada experts will be required to identify the nature of the drug. Two individuals have been arrested and questioned. They will appear in court at a later date.

This operation is led with the assistance of Health Canada, the Laval Police Service, the Sûreté du Québec in the MRC des Pays-d'en-Haut and the Saint-Jérôme Police Service.

Further details will be provided when they become available.
