RCMP searches property, finds stolen equipment

On February 22, members of Lunenburg District RCMP General Investigative Section, South Shore Integrated Street Crime Unit (SCEU) and Kings County Integrated SCEU searched a property Northfield Rd. As a result of the search, several large pieces of machinery and equipment were recovered. The value of the seized equipment is approximately $250,000. The items seized included:

  • Caterpillar excavator
  • New Holland skid steer
  • five 'goose neck' trailers
  • Kioti 'side by side' ATV
  • numerous power tools, smaller trailers and tractor attachments

Police were on scene until February 23 while RCMP Forensic Identification Services processed the evidence. A Remotely Piloted Aerial System, or 'drone' was used by the RCMP to survey the scene. The numerous pieces of equipment are from various areas throughout the province. Investigators have removed all equipment from the search area and are in the process of locating the suspect in this matter, and determining the owners of the equipment.
