23 year-old Nova Scotia man arrested by Queens District RCMP for impaired driving following single vehicle crash

On Thursday, August 10th, at approximately 3:00 a.m. Queens District RCMP responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred on Route 2 in Dunstaffnage, PEI. North Shore Volunteer Fire Department and Island EMS also responded to the scene. A pick-up truck left the roadway and collided with a utility pole resulting in a temporary power outage in the area.

Queens District RCMP arrested a 23 year-old Nova Scotia man on scene for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The driver and passenger were subsequently transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance where they were treated with non-threatening injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in this crash and Queens District RCMP are continuing their investigation.

Queens District RCMP encourage motorists to be alert while driving and continue reporting suspected impaired drivers.
