News release

A 26-year-old Miramichi man has pleaded not guilty to failing to comply with conditions that he not communicate with persons under the age of 16.

Timothy Robichaud appeared in Miramichi Provincial Court on March 20, 2017, and entered a not guilty plea to two charges: failure to comply with a prohibition order and failure to comply with a probation order.

The charges are the result of an investigation by the RCMP in New Brunswick's Internet Child Exploitation unit, launched after receiving a complaint in February of this year, from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, that the man was breaching his conditions by communicating with a youth from the United States.

Robichaud remains in custody until his trial on April 19 in Miramichi Provincial Court.
