Charges laid after Yellowknife RCMP respond to report of possible home invasion

Yellowknife RCMP responded to a call for service of a possible home invasion in downtown area of Yellowknife.

At approximately 4:15 PM, on March 18, RCMP members attended a home in Yellowknife after receiving a report of a possible home invasion in progress. The quick dispatch and attendance of the Yellowknife RCMP resulted in the immediate arrest of the suspect as they were leaving the premises.

Forcible entry S73 CC

Theft under $5000 S334(b) CC

Uttering Threats S264.1(1)(a)

"The RCMP wishes to remind the public to be vigilant on their personal and home security. Home invasions do occur in our communities, and we encourage our citizens to lock doors and be aware of your surroundings. If you see something suspicious, please report it immediately," states Marie York-Condon, Northwest Territories RCMP Media.
