17 speeding tickets issued following laser radar enforcement on Trans Canada Highway.

RCMP Traffic Services and Holyrood RCMP Detachment members teamed up to keep the Trans Canada Highway on the Avalon a little safer.

Traffic enforcement using Lidar (laser radar) was conducted on Route One near the Avondale Access Exit both on Monday morning and Monday afternoon.

Weather conditions were foggy with some light drizzle. Traffic was light in the morning and moderate in the afternoon.

Police had one officer monitoring the Lidar while three others in marked police cars dealt with the speeders.

Over the course of approximately four hours, seventeen Summary Offence Tickets for speeding infractions were issued. One driver was travelling in excess of 155 kilometers per hour.
