Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision in Central Bedeque, P.E.I.

At approximately 6:15pm on January 19th, 2017, The East Prince RCMP received a 911 call of a two vehicle collision on Route 1A in Central Bedeque.

Officers from the East Prince RCMP attended the scene and were assisted by the Summerside Police Service, the Kinkora Volunteer Fire Department and Island EMS.

The investigation has revealed that both vehicles were traveling in opposite directions and collided 'head-on'.

The drivers of both vehicles were pronounced deceased at the scene. A female passenger of one of the vehicles was taken to hospital for examination but has since been released.

The deceased are a 44 year-old female from New Haven, P.E.I., and a 53 year-old male from Hampton, P.E.I.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation however weather and road conditions are considered to be contributing factors.
