Driver charged with impaired care and control, over the legal limit

At approximately 3:00 PM on March 17th, the West Prince RCMP responded to a complaint of an impaired driver in Woodvale, PE. As a result of the impaired investigation a 60 year-old male from Alberton, PE was arrested for having care and control of motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol.

The driver's vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver was transported to the West Prince RCMP detachment where he provided two breath samples indicating he was over three times the legal limit. The driver was released on a promise to appear in Summerside Provincial Court at a later date in May to face two impaired driving related charges.

The public is encouraged to assist police in keeping our roadways safe by reporting any vehicle they suspect may be driven by an impaired driver.
