Man charged with armed robbery

A 32-year-old man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery that happened at the CIBC bank on Mountain Road in Moncton on January 23, 2017.

Aaron Andrew Lamore, originally from Ontario, appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on February 2, 2017, and was charged with armed robbery and breach of probation. He has been ordered to undergo a 30-day psychiatric assessment.

He was arrested without incident at approximately 7:00 p.m. on February 1, 2017, at a residence on Edgett Avenue in Moncton following a four-hour standoff with police. Codiac RCMP had set up a perimeter around the home after the man refused to leave the building.

He is scheduled to return to court on March 2 at 1:30 p.m.
