Prison sentences for five people charged in connection with street-level drug trafficking

Five of the 15 individuals arrested by the RCMP between January 11 and January 12, 2017, as part of an investigation into street-level drug trafficking, have pleaded guilty and have been sentenced to time in prison. Three women and one man appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on January 13.

  • Patricia Noiles, 37, of Turtle Creek, pleaded guilty to two counts of trafficking cocaine and two counts of breaching probation. She was sentenced to two years in prison.
  • Lyndsey Phinney, 22, of Moncton pleaded guilty to four counts of trafficking cocaine. She was sentenced to two years in prison.
  • Connie Goodine, 52, of Moncton pleaded guilty to three counts of trafficking cocaine. She was sentenced to two years and six months in prison.
  • Daniel MacKenzie, 56, of Moncton pleaded guilty to three counts of trafficking cocaine. He was sentenced to three years and six months in prison.

Police arrested two more men on January 13 as the RCMP investigation continued.

Darren Leger, 46, of Moncton was charged with two counts of trafficking crack cocaine and one count of possession of crack cocaine. He appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on January 16 and pleaded guilty to all charges against him. He was sentenced to four years in prison.

Steven Fitzsimmons, 24, of Moncton has been charged with one count of trafficking methamphetamine tablets. He was released and is scheduled to appear in court on February 14. 2017.

Charges against a 40-year-old Shediac man were withdrawn.

The remaining individuals charged in connection with the investigation have court appearances this week.
