News release

Burin Peninsula RCMP are requesting the public's assistance in solving a recent theft of Department of Transportation and Works road signs from the highway near Lamaline. This is the third such theft in the past two years in this area.

Road signs are placed on the highway to provide the public notification of safety concerns and removal of these signs puts all vehicle traffic and the persons travelling the highway at risk of injury or damage to vehicles.

If anyone has information regarding these thefts or the location of the signs they are asked to contact the RCMP at 709-279-3001. If you wish to remain anonymous contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), text TIP190 + your message to 'CRIMES' (274637), or at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
