News release

Crime Stoppers and the West District RCMP, Oromocto Detachment, are looking for the person or persons responsible for the negligent use of a firearm causing bodily harm to a man.

Late in the afternoon of July 25, 2015, a 39-year-old man was hit by a rifle bullet while sleeping in his tent trailer, near the Geary Speedway. The victim sustained serious injuries to both his arms and has lost the use of both hands. This careless act has left a man without the ability to work and care for himself. Information has revealed that a small group of people were shooting near the camp site when the victim was hit. It's believed there are people in the community who know who is responsible and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
