On Saturday, March 18, 2017 starting at 1:30 p.m., RCMP, police and emergency services personnel will march approximately three kilometres in the St-Jean Garrison area. The procession will be in advance of the Regimental Funeral of Cst. Richer Dubuc who died while on duty on March 6, 2017.
The road closure includes: Grand-Bernier Road South, Carrières Street, La Salle Street, Gouin Boulevard and Airport Road.
The public is asked to plan ahead and be patient. The road closure is for the safety of the participants in the procession and the attending public.
We apologize for any inconvenience this road closure may cause. Your support and cooperation in this event to honour Cst. Richer Dubuc and to show community support to the grieving family is highly appreciated.
- 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.: The Service de police de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu will encourage any cars that are at businesses and residences within the affected area to depart.
- 1:00 p.m.: The Service de police de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu will block access to the affected area and divert traffic. The affected area will be closed to all traffic (including any wishing to depart business and residential parking lots).
- 1:30 p.m.: Parade begins.
- 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.: The roads will gradually be reopened after final marchers conclude the procession.
