Chéticamp RCMP charges two men following dispute

RCMP officers from Chéticamp have charged two men with several offences following an incident last month in Pleasant Bay.

On December 7, 2016, members of Chéticamp RCMP responded to a threats complaint in Pleasant Bay. Subsequent investigation led police to a residence where a 52-year-old man was arrested without incident. A number of unsafely stored firearms were seized from the residence. Investigators arrested a 62-year-old man later that day. Both men were released later that day on conditions.

Murray Pattingale, 52, of Pleasant Bay, is charged with Uttering Threats, Unsafe Storage of a Firearm, and Causing a Disturbance. Wayne MacKinnon, 69, of Pleasant Bay, is charged with Uttering Threats.

Both men will appear on January 17 in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court.
