Ingonish RCMP charges man for five break-ins

On December 17, 2016, Ingonish District RCMP was called to five separate calls of break and enters in Neil's Harbour. All of the breaks occurred on December 17. In each case a window was smashed from the outside and the residences were entered.

On January 9, 2017, members of Ingonish RCMP searched a home in Neil's Harbour. Evidence was seized and a man was arrested in connection with the break-ins. Brandon Thomas Briand, 23, of Neil's Harbour, has been charged with Break and Enter (x 5), Possession of Break-in instrument, and two counts of Breach of Conditions. He appeared in Sydney Provincial Court yesterday, and was remanded. Two 16-year-old male youths were arrested in connection with these incidents and later released.

Mr. Briand will be appearing in Sydney Provincial Court tomorrow.
