Saskatchewan RCMP provides NEW information on homicide of Sheree Fertuck

Today, Saskatchewan RCMP are releasing images of the areas that officers have searched since 2015.

Saskatchewan RCMP hopes that the public can assist with locating Sheree Fertuck and provide information to help complete the homicide investigation.

The search parameters are as follows:

  • North of the gravel pit that is directly south and adjacent to Highway 15
  • South of the Highway 764 grid extension
  • East of the Highway 764 grid extension

Saskatchewan RCMP are also looking to the public for any information regarding a dark-coloured tarp-like or polyethylene material. If pieces of this material have been found in these areas, Saskatchewan RCMP are asking the public to come forward as this information can help us find Sheree.

Saskatchewan RCMP - Update on the homicide of Sheree Fertuck


This morning at 11:00, at the Saskatchewan RCMP Headquarters, Superintendent Derek Williams, Officer in charge of the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crime Program, provided the following update regarding the investigation into the homicide of Sheree Fertuck.

The investigation into the homicide of Sheree Fertuck has been complex. It involved many highly trained officers who dedicated hundreds of hours to determine what led to the death of Sheree Fertuck.

Sheree was reported missing in December 2015. She was last seen leaving her family's farmyard, east of Kenaston. Major Crime investigators were involved shortly after her disappearance.

In April 2016, investigators made the determination that Sheree was the victim of homicide. The investigation has been ongoing since and led to today's announcement of an arrest.

Last night at approximately 6:30 p.m., investigators from our Major Crime and Historical Case Units made an arrest in relation to the homicide of Sheree Fertuck.

Greg Fertuck was arrested without incident on the outskirts of Saskatoon and has been charged with one count each of:

First degree murder, contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code, and

Indignity to human remains, contrary to section 182(b) of the Criminal Code.

Greg Fertuck remains in RCMP custody and will make his first court appearance Wednesday, June 26, 2019, in Saskatoon Provincial Court at 9:00 a.m.

Further to our previous release, Saskatoon RCMP continues their investigation into the disappearance of Sheree Fertuck of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Saskatoon RCMP detachment members are being assisted in this investigation by RCMP Major Crime Unit South, Battleford General Investigations Section (GIS), Saskatoon GIS, Saskatoon Police Dog Services, RCMP Search and Rescue, Saskatoon Traffic Services, Saskatoon Traffic Reconstructionist, and Saskatoon Forensic Identification Section.

Based on the fact that the investigation thus far has revealed that Sheree was a person of habit and predictable behaviours, RCMP are treating her disappearance as suspicious. Search efforts by police have been ongoing since December 8th, 2015 and as a part of the efforts, the attached flyers have been handed out in and around the area of Kenaston, Saskatchewan.

We are desperately seeking information from anyone who may have information as to Sheree's whereabouts. Local residents in the area are being asked to check their property, any outbuildings and surrounding areas to determine if there are any items (shoe or vehicle tracks) or any indication of activity that appears to be out of the ordinary. Specifically, if the general public can provide information on any sightings of Sheree, her gravel truck or any suspicious activity in the area between the hours of 1:00 pm on Monday December 7th, and 8:00 am on Tuesday December 8th, 2015, they are requested to report that information.

Also, anyone who was travelling in the area or more specifically at the following GPS coordinates North 51 degree 2951.3, W 105 degree 5505.5, who may have taken video or photos during the same time frame, is asked to contact Saskatoon RCMP at (306)975-5145 or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.


Saskatoon RCMP is requesting the public's assistance in locating a missing person. Sheree Fertuck, age 51, of Saskatoon was last seen leaving her family's farm yard east of Kenaston, SK near Highway 15 around 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2015. Her semi truck that she hauls gravel with was located around 8:00 am Tuesday, December 8 at a gravel pit further east off Highway 15.

Sheree is approximately 5'4", 250lbs with greying brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing grey sweat pants, a grey sweater and white running shoes.
