Drug Awareness Service

What is DOCAS?

In late 2005, the Federal and International Operations Directorate, both Drug Branch and Organized Crime Branch, aligned their awareness services forming the Drugs and Organized Crime Awareness Service (DOCAS).

The Drugs & Organized Crime Awareness Service is coordinated by specially trained Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) personnel at the Federal, Provincial, Territorial and

Municipal levels. DOCAS works in partnership with all levels of government, non-governmental agencies, other police agencies, private organizations and other community groups to provide pro-active initiatives in our communities. They are committed to the following:

  • Promoting the benefits of a lifestyle free of substance abuse to Canadians.
  • Providing leadership, training, programs and coordination on substance abuse issues.
  • Educating all members of the RCMP to understand their role in the fight against Organized Crime
  • Mobilizing the Canadian public in becoming a significant partner of Canadian law enforcement in order to effectively combat and reduce the effects of Organized Crime in Canada.
