LRC : What we do

The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is a special library that is part of the RCMP Training Academy. Located in Regina, Saskatchewan, the Academy provides facilities, resources and a learning environment through which the new cadets can master the disciplines that are the basis of becoming members of the service.

Although its main focus is supporting RCMP cadets and personnel, the LRC also responds to the information needs of law enforcement personnel across Canada, and instructors and researchers working in related fields. Material is available on law enforcement, criminology, investigative techniques, RCMP history, social sciences, computers and many other areas related to policing.

The LRC is situated in a two-storey building directly across from the Applied Police Sciences (APS) building at Depot. The main floor houses the book, journal, reference, and topic collections, the reference desk, computers, photocopiers, a reading room, a telephone for local calling, and washrooms.

The second floor contains the video collection, library staff offices, computers, video equipment, a user-pay telephone for long distance calls, and a boardroom which can be divided into two separate study rooms.
