Currently the time to process criminal record verifications can be in excess of 4 months. In many cases it can be less, however, we are not in a position to guarantee that you will have your reply in less than that amount of time.

The reason for the delays in processing criminal records verifications is that there has been a massive increase in the number of requests for criminal record verifications in the last 7 years. We are now processing over 20,000 applications each month.

We are currently in the process of changing our processes and technology to speed up our response time. Since the completion of the first part of the project we have been able to process most electronic submissions for people with no criminal records in under a week. The second part of the project will take another few years and will allow us to process almost all applications in under a week.
