The mandate of the Assets and Procurement Services Branch (A&PB) is to provide sound stewardship of the RCMP's assets throughout the entire lifecycle. This includes everything from planning, policy, procurement, coordination, monitoring and control as well as reporting of all RCMP real property, projects, fleet and other moveable assets, including items of uniform, equipment and armouries.
A&PB facilitates the asset investment decision-making process to ensure that the RCMP's strategic priorities and Business Line interests are respected. The Branch enables the organization to fulfill its acquisition and management requirements for real property, fleet, uniforms, equipment, other goods, services and construction while maintaining clear accountability.
A&PB provides strategic annual and long range planning and delivery of major projects making it the centre of excellence for project management of complex capital projects.
Through its Uniform and Equipment Program, A&PB is responsible for the design, acquisition, storage and distribution of safe, reliable, approved police uniforms and equipment as well as for the procurement, issuance, and maintenance of RCMP firearms.
As part of its mandate, A&PB is also accountable for the management of the RCMP Environment and Sustainable Development programs.
