New Users

There are currently two steps to getting set up to use Public Agency Web Services (PWS) for firearms reporting.  After the initial setup, you will only have one step to sign-in and use the service.

Registering for Access Key – Step 1

The first time you use the secure portal for reporting firearms, for security reasons, you will need register yourself as an Access Key user and choose a permanent User Id and password. To begin the process, select the link below.  You will be asked to accept the terms and conditions of use for Access Key, after which you can create your permanent User ID and password.

Register for an Access Key account to use Public Agency Web Services (PWS)

Follow the steps and read all of the instructions. If you have any problems during this process call 1-800-731-4000, extension 1045, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) for assistance.

Registering to use Public Agency Web Services (PWS) - Step 2

If not already logged in to Access Key, enter your permanent Access Key User ID and password on the Access Key screen and choose the Log In button.  After logging in you will be taken to the Public Agency Web Services (PWS).

  • Select Public Agency from the list of available applications
  • When you get to the screen “Register for an RCMP Application”, you will be registering to use PWS. At this time, please enter the temporary userid and password that was issued to your agency by the Canadian Firearms Program. If you no longer have this temporary userid and password, please contact the Public Agents Support Line by email at PWS_SWASP@rcmp-grc.gc.ca .
  • The userid and password are case sensitive so please enter them exactly as they appeared when provided by the Canadian Firearms Program.
  • Completing the “Register for an RCMP Application” page brings you to the Public Agency link. If you are not brought to this link, it is likely because the temporary userid and/or password were entered incorrectly.
