To mark Police Week 2009 the Canadian Firearms Program (CFP) is sending out firearm information to all police departments and RCMP detachments across the country.

As a primary source of firearms information for front-line police officers, the CFP has produced:

  • program posters,
  • reference cards featuring the police support line and investigative support line, and
  • reference sheets on topics such as storage, display, transportation and handling of firearms and the Canadian Firearms Registry On-Line.

Firearms information is accessed by police officers over 9,000 times per day. That data helps contribute to both police and community safety and is a useful resource in fighting crime. The material going out to officers for Police Week is designed to put key numbers and resources at their fingertips so that the information they require can be accessed quickly.

The easy reference police products will be delivered throughout Police Week.
