NOTE: If you are requesting replacement of your firearms licence with non-restricted privileges and the Chief Firearms Officer of your province or territory determined that a fee waiver applied because you need the firearms to hunt or trap in order to sustain yourself or your family, then the fee is waived for replacing your licence. The fee waiver does not apply to replacement of a firearms licence with restricted or prohibited privileges.
The Privacy Act gives you the right to see and correct personal information the Government of Canada holds about you. There is no charge to apply for this information under the Privacy Act.
The Access to Information Act gives both individuals and corporations present in Canada the right to seek access to federally controlled information and records. There is a processing fee of $5 which is needed before work is started on an Access request. Where applicable, a fee for reproduction of the record or part thereof may apply.

Chief Firearms Officers are responsible for issuing authorizations to carry. The specific conditions for authorizations are set out in the Firearms Act (Authorizations to Carry Restricted Firearms and Certain Handguns Regulations).
